Start your first timer

Follow the Moonfade setup guide and demo for the timer controls, permission prompt and a short test with your usual player.

Record a compatibility check

Use the Moonfade compatibility method and blank record for a short awake check of your setup. It records separate volume, player and display observations; it does not report tested devices or players.

Timers and playback

With Stop audio & video enabled, countdown completion starts the configured 0–60-second media-volume fade, followed by the audio-focus request to pause playback. Moonfade then separately requests display lock when Turn off the screen is enabled. Disabling playback ending skips both fade and audio focus. See the complete ending order.

Media apps and Android devices can respond differently. An accepted request does not prove actual playback pause or physical display lock; check both results in a short test.

If playback does not stop as expected, check that Stop audio & video is enabled in Moonfade Settings, then try the timer again with the media app you use. Follow the media-keeps-playing troubleshooting guide to check volume, playback and screen lock separately.

Screen lock

Moonfade requires Device Admin activation before starting a timer so it can turn off and lock the display when the timer ends. To remove the permission, open Settings and turn off Turn off the screen. Do this before uninstalling Moonfade. If you start another timer, Moonfade asks you to activate it again. See the screen-lock permission walkthrough for the activation steps.

If you only want to remove access, follow the permission-removal guide. To remove the app afterward, use the separate uninstall guide.

Restore Moonfade Pro

Moonfade Pro is a one-time Google Play purchase, not a subscription.

  1. Check the account selected in the Play Store and switch to the Google account that made the purchase.
  2. Open Moonfade, open the Moonfade Pro screen, and choose Restore purchase.
  3. If Pro remains unavailable, email support with your Google Play order ID.

Follow the routine Pro-restoration guide for the supported steps. If Pro stays unavailable, use the failed-restoration guide to distinguish the returned messages, then describe that message to support.

Do not include card, bank, password, or authentication information in a support email.
