1 minute–24 hours

Use the responsive dial or start quickly with five built-in presets.

02

Gentle fade

With Stop audio & video enabled, countdown completion starts the configured 0–60-second fade, then an audio-focus pause request. Disabling it skips both.

03

Notification controls

Add time, subtract time, or stop the timer without reopening the app.

04

Screen lock

Tap Start and complete required Device Admin activation before the countdown begins. When Turn off the screen is enabled, Moonfade requests display lock separately after any enabled fade/pause work. It can still request lock when Stop audio & video is off.

Moonfade sleep timer FAQ

What is Moonfade?

Moonfade is a sleep timer for Android 8.0 and later. Set a timer from 1 minute to 24 hours for music, podcasts, audiobooks, or video. With Stop audio & video enabled, countdown completion starts the configured fade, followed by an audio-focus pause request. Display lock is requested separately when Turn off the screen is enabled. Moonfade does not track sleep or provide media.

How do I start a sleep timer?

Start playback in your media app, open Moonfade, choose a duration with the dial or a quick preset, and tap Start. Complete any required Android Device Admin activation after tapping Start, before the countdown begins. Keep the timer notification available to adjust the time or stop it.

Will Moonfade stop every music or video app?

Playback behavior depends on your media app and Android device. With Stop audio & video enabled, Moonfade fades the media-volume stream after countdown completion, then requests audio focus. Disabling it skips both; no request guarantees that every player pauses. Make sure Stop audio & video is enabled in Settings and test a short timer with your usual player.

Does Moonfade Pro require a subscription?

Moonfade Pro is an optional one-time Google Play purchase. It removes ads and unlocks editable presets, a home-screen widget, additional themes, and Gentle Start and Late Drop fade curves. The price is shown by Google Play before purchase. Restore purchase from the Pro screen using the Google Play account that made the purchase.

Does Moonfade need an account or collect my timer settings?

Moonfade does not require a Moonfade account. Timer settings, presets, themes, and fade choices stay on your device. Google Play handles purchases, and the free version may display ads through Google Mobile Ads. Advertising and consent services can process data as described in the Privacy Policy. Optional Share anonymous usage results is off by default and separate from advertising and website measurement.

How do I remove screen-lock permission or uninstall Moonfade?

Open Moonfade Settings and turn off Turn off the screen. Moonfade removes its Device Admin access when you do, so you can uninstall it normally. Starting another timer asks you to activate screen lock again. If you cannot open the app, remove Moonfade from Android's device administrator settings before uninstalling.

Privacy, plainly

No Moonfade account.
Settings stay on your device.

Your timer settings and personalization stay on your device. Moonfade operates a limited Google Play reviewer-code validation service that does not receive those settings. The free version may show ads through Google Mobile Ads, with applicable privacy choices available in Settings.

Optional Share anonymous usage results is off by default and separate from advertising and website measurement. It reports coarse timer outcomes, not your timer settings or proof that a player paused. Read the privacy policy for its scope.
