What should I check if Moonfade’s timer notification is missing?
Check the active timer, Android notification access, and available notification actions before assuming a missing Moonfade notification means the timer stopped.
If Moonfade’s timer notification is missing, first open Moonfade to check whether a timer is active. Then review the app’s notification permission and notification settings on your Android device. A notification that is absent or difficult to find does not by itself tell you whether the countdown stopped or the media player paused.
The distinction matters because Moonfade’s product guide places add-time, subtract-time, and stop controls in the active timer notification. Your immediate task is to establish the timer’s state, then recover access to its controls without guessing at playback behavior.
Check the timer before changing settings
Open Moonfade and look at the current timer state. If no timer is active, there may be no active countdown notification to adjust. If a timer is active, note its remaining time and compare that with what you expected from your earlier setup.
For a new timer, start media in your player first, choose a duration in Moonfade, tap Start, and complete Device Admin activation when prompted before the countdown begins. The current release requires that activation. A timer that has not been started is a different situation from a running timer whose notification is not visible.
Also check your media app. Playback can continue independently of whether you can see Moonfade’s notification, so do not use the presence or absence of music as your only timer-status check.
Look for the notification and its actions
Google’s Android notification help explains opening the notification area by swiping down and expanding a notification to reveal available actions. Use those general interactions while allowing for your phone’s presentation.
There are two distinct problems to distinguish:
- The Moonfade notification itself is not visible.
- The notification is visible, but its timer actions are not immediately shown.
For the second problem, expanding the notification may reveal its actions. For the first, check the app’s notification settings rather than repeatedly searching for a button that is not on screen. Identify the app attached to each notification; your media player’s controls do not establish that Moonfade’s timer controls are available.
Review Android’s app notification settings
Use your device’s notification settings to check whether Moonfade is allowed to show notifications. Google documents app-notification controls, while warning that settings and steps vary by device and Android version. Follow the wording on your actual phone rather than an assumed universal sequence of menus.
If you change a notification setting, return to the app and check the timer again. Observe whether the notification and the actions you need are now available. Do not describe the change as a guaranteed repair for every device; it is a concrete check of the permission and presentation on your setup.
Avoid making unrelated system changes just because a notification is missing. This guide does not establish that disabling battery restrictions, altering security settings, or changing background-service controls is the correct solution. Start with the documented notification checks and an observable timer test.
Test what you need the notification to do
Run a short timer with your usual media player rather than first testing a long session. Confirm that you can locate the active timer notification, reveal its actions when necessary, and see a change after the action you choose.
Keep the playback ending separate from notification visibility. Moonfade Support says media apps and Android devices can respond differently to media-volume changes and audio-focus requests. Check Stop audio & video, observe the post-countdown fade, and inspect whether the player actually pauses.
A restored notification provides access to controls; it does not establish universal media compatibility.
If the notification is still missing
Gather the phone model, Android version, whether Moonfade shows an active timer, and whether the notification is absent or merely lacks visible actions. Note any notification setting you checked or changed. These details help support distinguish timer state from notification presentation.
Use Moonfade’s support page for contact information. Do not include account passwords, authentication codes, or payment-card details in a troubleshooting request.
Get Moonfade on Google Play and test a short active countdown, verifying both the in-app timer and the notification controls on your own Android device.
